Adventure Boat Camp

✦ Sailing, Paddling, Hiking, Camping

✦ Ages 8-13

A combination of sailing and paddling, Adventure Boat Camp is an all-inclusive, curriculum-driven experience for kids. Campers will experience paddling and sailing on the Hudson River while learning to navigate, observing local ecology, tying useful knots, and perhaps catching a fish. Join our experienced captains aboard our private fleet of vessels while exploring deserted beaches, hiking across uninhabited islands, having fun, and creating life-long friendships.

Some weeks include Thurs overnight camping. Older campers encouraged to register for these weeks, however, all are welcome any week.

 Meet the crew!

  • Adventure Boat Camp introduces young people to the natural wonders of the Hudson River, builds their boating skills, and gives them a taste of adventure. This camp program weaves together Cheryl and Nick’s deep knowledge of local history and ecology, and their breadth of maritime experience with their passion for connecting kids to the outdoors. Our captains have decades of experiences on the Hudson’s waters and with students of all ages.

Camp will be a student lead, hands-on, learning expedition. In just one week, our campers will gain first hand experience with boating traditions used over the past thousand years. Boat technology, navigational techniques, and ecological connections changed through time, and Adventure Boat Camp curriculum follows this historical progression. Teamwork, empowerment, environmental responsibility, and personal safety are all baked into the daily routines with camp.

  • Campers should have a dry sack or backpack for all their items. Items include: Lifejacket, lunch, water bottle, bathing suit, towel, closed toed water shoes (Keens), sweatshirt, water-proof sunscreen, and a hat. Please note, we do not allow cell phones at Adventure Boat Camp.

For overnight, campers should also bring a sleeping bag, toothbrush/toothpaste, bug spray, flashlight, pajamas, and an extra lunch for the following day.

Adventure Boat Camp will provide a tent, dinner (hot dogs), s’mores, and breakfast.

  • Campers are supervised at all times and are required to wear a lifejacket on docks, boats, or in the water.
